WABANA TOWNSHIP OFFICE

Notice is hereby given to qualified residents of Wabana Township, Itasca County, State of Minnesota, with proof of residency of Wabana Township and interested in becoming a Town Board Supervisor or Clerk should contact the Township Clerk beginning Tuesday, July 14, 2026 until Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 5:00 pm, for the following offices:
 
                  Supervisor A –  4 Year Term/Elected until December of 2030
                  Clerk  –  4 Year Term/Elected until December of 2030

The Town Hall (30980 Clearwater Road, Grand Rapids) will be open from 1:00 pm until 
5:00 pm for filing on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, which is the last day of the filing period.

Dust Control

Dust control (calcium chloride) will not be put down on township roads this summer.  This decision was addressed during the Annual Township Meeting in March 2026.  The cost for the product has become very expensive. Itasca County also is not applying any dust control on their County gravel roads. The best solution to reduce the amount of dust that is kicked up is to slow down. Studies have shown a 50% decrease in the amount of dust just by slowing down 10 mph. So if you slow down from 40 mph to 20 mph, there is a 75% reduction in dust.  Slowing down also greatly reduces the wear & tear on the gravel road and will keep the roads in better shape between road gradings.
